Bhagwan Mahavir Relief Foundation Trust (BMRFT)

The Bhagwan Mahavir Relief Foundation Trust (BMRFT) is the brainchild of a group of dedicated entrepreneurs from the Jain community who have come together with the noble objective of serving the weaker sections of society. In line with the Trust’s vision to serve the underprivileged, a one-of-its kind Medi-Dialysis Centre is being started by the Trust in New Delhi to provide world class dialysis treatment to patients suffering from chronic renal disorders. According to statistics, the current demand for dialysis in India stands at 3.4 crore patients each year, with a further 2.2 lakh patients being added to this figure on an annual basis. The infrastructure required for dialysis services in the country are presently in a dismal state with inadequate provisions for treatment as well as high costs involving some 3-4 lakhs annually in expenditure. The high costs involved prove an additional burden for already impoverished families who have to suffer financially as well as emotionally when looking for a cure for life-threatening renal diseases. It is here that BMRFT is attempting to make a difference by giving patients the benefit of access to dialysis treatment at affordable prices. The new Medi-Dialysis Centre created by BMRFT, with a modest 25 bed facility, will provide dialysis services along with meditation as a holistic treatment method. Leading nephrologists and technicians as well as trained meditation teachers have been brought together to collaborate at the Centre with the latest world class technology to give patients optimum treatment and care. State-of-the-art machinery and equipment have been deployed at the Centre to track every parameter of the patients. The Trust seeks to reach as many kidney failure patients as possible through the facilities at the new Centre with healthcare, medical treatment and financial assistance to subsidize the cost of dialysis. At the heart of the endeavour are patients who have progressed to Stage 5 of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), which is also known as End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). At the same time, BMRFT seeks to spread awareness on renal disorders and organize educational programs on kidney-related disorders for the general public with the aid of expert healthcare and medical professionals.
